Handshakes indicate the start of an uneasy relationship. We shake hands with the right hand as this historically was our spear hand. The underlying message “I do not intend to kill you.” not a great start to a relationship.
A handshake indicates an immature relationship. It should not be the aim but rather an indicator that more needs to be done to develop the relationship.
