Knitting Pattern - Why we built the dream machine.
Posted on Fri, 22 Jun 07 at 04:42 by Chris Matts into Bad Patents
I live in Des Moines, Iowa. I’m surrounded by boring business analyst types. My escape from the boredom has been to immerse myself in knitting.
Several years ago I had an amazing breakthrough. I call it “The Knitting Pattern.” I’ve tried to pass it on to other but my friends and relatives are more interested in UML, IIBA certification and Business Value. Whatever they are.
Last month, the Women’s Institute branch of the APLN bought me a laptop and ADSL for my 125th birthday.
Does anyone want to take my pattern forward. I’d hate for it to be lost like some obscure financial mathematics that died with that poor friendman in the Maginot line.

Hi Aunt May
I’m a Moari tatooist. I’ve seen you pattern and offered it to customers as a bit of a joke.
It is now my best seller.
I’d love to know more about the inspiration for the pattern. It evokes a deep resonance for many people.
Thank you.

I love it!
I am studying the history of Chinese Calligraphy at Hong Kong Star Ferry Uni.
Your pattern is very similar to a drawing by a 12th century tibetan monk. He called it 21st century peace.
My brother in law is producing jumpers incorporating your design.

Dear Aunt May
I am Chen’s brother in law. Your design has been a big hit in the Chinese clubbing scene. My company is having a record year.
Is there anything we can do for you?
Perhaps we could bring you over to China for a visit. You could do some sightseeing, and visit club where you can see your design everywhere. You would be an honoured guest. Chen would love to meet you. He says you talk a lot on skype.

I have already had more from Chen than you can imagine. Chen, Jake and I speak every couple of weeks.
I do not like travel. Every time I go on holiday Kent, my BA, goes back to Waterfall. As an Agilist I find it too painful to see.
I would like to see the club scenes. Chen has described them to me. Apparently the semi synchronised movement of the design is almost trance inducing which is why clubbers like the design so much. Any chance you could video some footage and stick it on you Tube?

“Right”!
You are a genius! Its number one on You tube and our sales have gone Global!
I just recieved an e:mail from a Kent McTavish in Des Moins who says they have set up an eXtreme Knitting club there. They knit, then dance.
I’ll forward his address and you can arrange to see your design in action for yourself.
